The Sutherland Shire Junior Cricket Association is established to encourage and promote the game of cricket for all players in the Sutherland Shire.

In the Shire, thousands of young cricketers (over 5,000 teams) have played the game. Likewise, thousands of volunteers have given hours of effort working through problems of team numbers, grounds, raising finances, fielding representative teams, organizing annual functions (presentation nights/cap presentations), addressing legal requirements (incorporation/annual reports/audit of monies), the list is long.

The fact that the Association has lasted fifty years and provided cricket for kids year after year in spite of many hurdles is success. There are many ways to measure success and the most important one is immediately before our eyes. Junior cricket is here today doing what was started fifty years ago by people who loved the game and cared.

There is pride in achieving success and no more is this well deserved than with the clubs that are the "Heart of the Association". Nothing brings more pleasure to a club, its players, parents and supporters than to win a premiership. No matter what age group, no matter what level, a win is a win. They do not come easy.
